Dinner Party pictures + Christmas Card
Christmas has come and gone, and I've already moved onto New Year's and Valentine's day in my mind, but I can't help sharing some pictures of one of the Christmas parties we hosted this year and a quick snapshot of our Christmas card.
We ended up hosting most of the family gatherings this year and it was crazy, but fun. My awesome chef of a husband slaved in the kitchen and produced something amazing every time. And the presents! Oh my. Let's just say we had to haul several bags full of wrapping paper and boxes to the curb on garbage day (please don't judge me for not recycling this time!), which of course blew away several times (dang Tri-Cities wind). Overall a magical Christmas with plenty of time to spend with dear family and friends.
And last, but not least, a snapshot of our Christmas card.
Whew! I'll be back later with a fun weekly roundup and a special announcement. Happy New Year :)

A farmer and his wife...
My amazing Grandparents are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on December 16th! I created an announcement to send to their family and friends.
Aren't they cute? They're not actually farmers, but if all had gone as planned they would have been. They met in high school where my Grandma thought my Grandpa was a "dumb jock." Somehow he persuaded her that he wasn't.
They planned a simple life on my Grandpa's family farm. Instead they ended up living a whirlwind life as Pastors. The last sixty years for them has been full of children, traveling and often getting down to their last penny and giving it away. They are truly some of the most generous people I know.
(Gold paper, vintage dress fabric and the announcement were sewn together. The announcement and picture were tied together with red and white bakers twine and sealed in an envelope with a custom wrap around label.)
My Grandpa was a boxer and still throws his fists in the air when he's excited. He plays a mean trombone and he always, always wears cowboy boots. He wakes up early every morning to go to the church and pray and he still visits the sick and lonely. My Grandma is still sharp as a whip and sassy as ever. She loves babies and roses and always tells you the truth. They eat at a local diner nearly everyday, where they have a running tab.
I love them and their story :)

Baby shower invites
A while back I did some baby shower invites for a dear friend. Her best friend is having a baby girl soon and she was hosting the party. Everyone should have a best friend like her!
Congratulations Celeste! Your baby girl is already loved :)

Going overboard...
I suffer from a disease...some of you may understand. I tend to go overboard. I cannot stop myself. It's becoming apparent that there are two types of people: those who totally get why I have multiple glue gun burns and bags under my eyes from staying up late making an awesome costume for my child that few people will see, and those who give me the blank stare and tell me about this great place called the Halloween store. If you belong to the latter category, please don't judge. I really can't help myself. And I'm really not trying to make you mad. Like I said, a disease.
Consider my daughter's third birthday invites. Keep in mind this will most likely be a family party because how many friends does a three year old have? Only a crazy person would design them herself, go to three different stores for supplies and spend four a couple of hours putting them together, right? Well, crazy or not, I love them. And that's enough for now.
Please tell me you're crazy like me :)
By the way...guests are asked to write a special note to the birthday girl on the back of the chipboard tag. The tags will be hung on our tree. Don't say it...I know I've gone too far ;)
