It felt good to be out of the rain.
About a month ago we spent a few sun soaked days in Scottsdale. A trip to the blooming desert turned out to be just what we needed.
The night before we left I was careful to put the camera battery in the charger. And in the charger it stayed. All week long. Oops! I've never been more thankful for my trusty iPhone and my fave picture app (VSCOcam).
I'm always grateful for a change of scenery and a chance to break out of our routines for a while. We had such a sweet time with our little family and my parents. Warm sun, gorgeous cacti, exotic flowers, frequent dips in the pool, and lots and lots of good food (a vacation must-have in my book) sure did us good.
We visited a Ranch one day and the girls to take turns riding a horse. They were beyond excited and were surprisingly patient and gentle throughout the whole process.
We also had the chance to visit Butterfly World, which is essentially an indoor home to thousands of butterflies. It was so beautiful, but also a little creepy to walk around surrounded by the constant fluttering of wings!
You really can't go wrong with poolside breakfasts, spray parks, ice cream, and carousels.
And then there was this every evening. Thanks for the good time Scottsdale, we will definitely be back!

A River Moving.
When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving within you, a joy.
RUMI
Things have been quiet around here lately. Sometimes my
insides get a little out of sync with my outsides and I find myself with
a disconnect. On the days when there are too many tasks, too much
motion, the ever urgent requests, my soul is a little hidden and I find
it hard to be creative, hard to share in this space. Every time this
happens I learn a lot about myself, about living life well. Am I really
too busy to connect with myself or is it simply a matter of priorities?
Either way, things always get back on track and I find a way to find the
quiet, to remember how to live and create from my soul.
There is much to catch you up on, such as our pending house sale and another big move coming up (perhaps this is the reason behind my wandering mind?!), but that is for another day...
We've been spending our days outdoors, and eating ice cream as much as we can. There's nothing like the golden green of the Pacific Northwest in the late spring and early summer! There are so many pockets and paths to explore, I don't think we'll ever run out.
Take care xo

The Sweetest Thing
Someday she'll despise me for making her wear this. It's the way of the world.
But, for now, isn't she darling?

Photobox.
Our church had this photo booth set up yesterday for Mother's Day. How fun is that?
I didn't realize when I pushed the button "black and white" that the photos would immediately begin. Oops. At least we got it together by the end!
While we're at it, how about these cool photo booth invitations?
