So, we sorta bought a house...

When we visited Seattle back in March, we made it our goal to look at a few houses on the market.  We had been looking at listings and working with an agent for weeks, but we were only half serious.  It would be crazy to buy a house in March/April that you wouldn't move into until August, right? Right.

That was what we were thinking until we looked at the last house on our list.  We fell hard for that house.  It was an updated two-story mid-century that had just come on the market.  The price was right, everything was just right (a side view of the backyard is pictured above).  We decided to move forward and we really feel like God has guided our every step.  Turns out the current owners weren't quite ready to move yet and agreed to stay until August when we arrive, which was a serious answer to our prayers!

I've waited to share this news until now, but you can imagine how my head has been spinning with anticipation and ideas!  One of my favorite things to do is dream up possible ideas for the upstairs living room.  The house has a large basement, so we plan to actually keep the upstairs living room a bit more formal and put together (i.e. toy box free).

If you're interested, I've shared one of my many ideas for our living room over at A House in Holland today.  I met Ruth at one of the lovely lunches during Alt, and she's such a sweetheart!  Her family is also in transition as they relocate across the country this summer.  You can read all about her ideas and their adventures over at her darling blog.

Thanks for having me Ruth!

  1. Randi, I'm so excited for you! That backyard is dreamy.

A couple years ago, I sold my house with the condition that I needed to live in it for another 4-5 months, and it worked out great!
