Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

My husband and I are always snapping pictures of our crazy life.  I thought it would be fun to start sharing my favorite pictures of the week on Fridays, if only to force me to sift through them more often.

I hope you have a great weekend!

P.S.  Were you the winner of the giveaway?  Don't forget to check!

Calendar Search 2012

The girls and I have come down with some sort of bug and have decided the pajamas will not come off today.  The perfect excuse to start browsing everything holiday and start making Christmas lists!

Last year, I started the merry tradition of purchasing (and asking for!) beautiful calendars for Christmas.  It really is the gift that keeps on giving throughout the year and could be a great item to give to people on your list.  I've started the great search for the perfect one for our house.

So far in the running:

1. 2012 Botanical Calendar by Rifle Paper Co. (I saw this in person at Paper Source-gorgeous!)
2. 2012  Letterpress Calendar by Ink & Wit
3. The year of the Kitchen Calendar Poster by Earmark (because it is the year of the kitchen over here)
4. 2012 Floral Wall Calendar by Leah Duncan

P.S.  Thanks for all of your support yesterday!  You still have until midnight to enter the giveaway, good luck!

Introducing: Swoon Paper Studio

The lucky winner is Marta! Please contact me at swoonpaper@gmail.com with your info so I can get you your prize :). Thanks for playing!

The shop is officially open for business!  I really hope you'll take the time to check it out.  I'm dying to know what you think!

I'm new to this, so if you run into any glitches with viewing products or ordering, would you mind letting me know?

About a year ago, I was doing the same things I am now (dreaming up designs, finding ways to make new things and swooning over lovely things).  I had this feeling that if I stepped out a bit that I might find some other people who felt the same way about life.  So I started to blog.  And I couldn't stop.

The fact that anyone would want to read this or be interested in the occasional project that I photographed in my pajamas is amazing to me.  I don't always believe it.  Until I remember how much I like peeking into other people's lives, reading the thoughts they think, and looking at pictures of their crazy pajama projects.  Thank you for sticking with me.

Alright, you've made it through the sappy part.  How about a little giveaway?  Consider it a big "thank you" for being a part of Swoon.

A mini party in a box!  Prize includes 6 black & white fill in the blank invites with coordinating yellow envelopes, 6 mini glassine favor bags, 12 gray stripey straws, 6 bamboo spoons, 12 yellow stripey cupcake liners, 6 Hooray cupcake toppers (find them in the shop here), and a bit of black & white ribbon on a vintage spool.

To enter the giveaway:

-check out the new shop: Swoon Paper Studio
-be a follower of Swoon
-leave a comment on this post before Thursday, November 10th at 12 pm PST
(be sure to let me know where you're coming from, I would love to visit your site!)
-open to US residents only

A winner will be chosen by random.org and posted on Friday morning at the top of this post.  It's a short giveaway, so get on it!

Thanks again for being so lovely.  I hope you enjoy the shop!

Jennifer & Robert

Shortly before we moved I finished up a wedding suite for Jennifer & Robert.  Their wedding took place this last weekend and I'm just now getting around to snapping a few pics of the invites.

When Jennifer told me they were dreaming up a travel-themed celebration, I was on board right away!  You know how much I love a good map.

About a month ago Jennifer contacted me about putting together their wedding program.  They wanted to make an eight page booklet with all the information guests would need on their big day,  including fun facts about their wedding and wedding party.  It was fun to incorporate the look of the invitation into the program.

Congratulations Jennifer & Robert, I feel so honored to have been a part of your big day!

Happiness

Happiness is:

~A funny little friend on your table
~A husband who makes soup on the weekend, sometimes even twice

~Two sweet girly girls
~My morning pick-me-up dressed in red for the Holidays

~A whole year of blogging (can you believe it!!)
~Doing what you love.

In addition to custom invitations and parties, I've been working on the makings of a sweet little shop.  There are some happy little paper and party goods in there that I think you're going to love.

Will you join me on Wednesday for the grand opening of Swoon Paper Studio? I would be so honored.  One lucky reader will win a festive prize.

See you there!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday to you!  I hope you have something special planned for this weekend.

We're going to check out one last beach (we might have to break out the coats).  It finally feels like fall around here, which will probably lead me to bake up something good and watch a movie with my wool blanket.

Here are some of my favorites from the web this week:
1. "A Good Deed" by @joncontino
2. Leaves four ways (the painted ones are my fave!) by Victoria at A Subtle Revelry
3. Adorable & yummy place cards by Melanie at You are my fave
4. Clever cross-stitching from Martha Stewart

Anthropologie Holiday Collection 2011

Have you seen the Holiday goodness over there yet?  I saw it for myself over the weekend and almost took  home a bagful.

I like to treat our little apartment like a college dorm (temporary, cramped and slightly mismatched) so I don't get depressed to keep things simple.  I wasn't planning to do much decorating for Christmas this year, but now I'm not so sure.  A few garlands couldn't hurt.

Are we all okay with diving into Christmas now that Halloween is behind us?
